Dambulla is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Gautama Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses. The latter include Vishnu and the Ganesha. The murals cover an area of 2,100 square metres (23,000 sq ft). Depictions on the walls of the caves include the temptation by the demon Mara, and Buddha's first sermon. Prehistoric Sri Lankans would have lived in these cave complexes before the arrival of Buddhism in Sri Lanka as there are burial sites with human skeletons about 2700 years old in this area, at Ibbankatuwa near the Dambulla cave complexes.

Fire-breathers! A dragon is a legendary creature that appears in the folklore of many cultures worldwide.   The word "dragon" has come to be applied to the  legendary creature in Chinese mythology.  In China, a dragon is thought to have power over rain. Since the Middle Ages dragons have often been depicted in Western cultures as having wings, horns and the ability to breathe fire. In the Eastern cultures dragons are usually depicted as wingless, four-legged, serpentine creatures with superhuman intelligence.  A horse with a horn!  The  unicorn  is a legendary creature  that can describe  as an animal with a single large, pointed, spiraling horn  projecting from its forehead. This mythical creature is  a symbol of purity and grace, which could be captured only by a virgin. My favourite place...  "There is no place like Home". This is the place where I have raised, this is the place where my beloved family lives, this is the place where i enjoy my freedom and the place i love the most. So my favourite place is my home. My home is located in kirulapona town of colombo district. My home is a small two-storied one with a very small backyard. We have five bedrooms in our home. There are two bathrooms and one kitchen.We also have a storeroom which is filled with things we don’t use but also cannot discard.
